Study Tour Yogyakarta 3D2N – A Memorable Educational Journey
Educational tours provide an excellent opportunity for students and travelers to learn outside the classroom while exploring new places. In May 2023, a study tour to Yogyakarta was organized, offering a three-day, two-night journey packed with cultural, educational, and adventurous experiences. This itinerary covers historical sites, natural beauty, and traditional experiences, making it an enriching journey for all participants.
The study tour began with a hearty breakfast at Ambar Ketawang, a popular dining spot known for its authentic Javanese cuisine. A nutritious meal ensured the participants were energized for the exciting day ahead.
The next stop was a visit to FKH UGM (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada), where students gained insight into the university’s veterinary studies, laboratory facilities, and research contributions. This visit provided a glimpse into the world of veterinary medicine and the academic excellence of one of Indonesia’s top universities.
Following the academic visit, participants embarked on the VW Tour Borobudur, an exciting journey in vintage Volkswagen cars exploring the picturesque countryside around Borobudur Temple. The tour allowed them to witness stunning landscapes, local villages, and cultural attractions while experiencing a unique and fun way of travel.
For lunch, the group headed to Balkondes Tuk Songo, a community-based tourism center offering delicious local dishes. The serene environment added to the experience, providing a relaxing break before continuing the journey.
The day concluded with a visit to Wisata Oleh-oleh Jogja T-Shirt, where participants could shop for souvenirs, including locally designed t-shirts and handicrafts. Afterward, they checked into their hotel, marking the end of the first day.
The second day began with a fulfilling breakfast at the hotel, preparing everyone for another immersive day in Yogyakarta.
The first destination was Keraton Yogyakarta, the historic palace of the Sultan. Here, participants learned about Yogyakarta’s royal heritage, traditional Javanese architecture, and the significance of the sultanate in Indonesian history.
Next, the group visited Desa Wisata Tembi, a cultural village offering hands-on experiences in traditional Javanese crafts and farming. Participants engaged in activities such as batik-making, rice planting, and traditional cooking, deepening their understanding of local traditions.
Lunch was served at Tembi, featuring an array of Javanese specialties in a tranquil setting. This provided an opportunity to appreciate authentic local flavors while reflecting on the morning’s experiences.
After returning to the hotel for a short break, the evening was marked by a grand Gala Dinner. The event featured live cultural performances, traditional dance, and group bonding activities, making it a memorable night for all attendees.
The final day of the study tour started with breakfast at the hotel before heading to an adrenaline-pumping adventure: the Jeep Merapi tour. This off-road adventure took participants through the rugged terrain surrounding Mount Merapi, offering stunning views and insights into the volcano’s history.
After the thrilling ride, lunch was enjoyed at Casario, a well-known restaurant offering a blend of local and international cuisine. The relaxing atmosphere allowed participants to unwind before the last exploration stop.
The tour then continued to Malioboro, Yogyakarta’s iconic shopping street. Participants had time to explore, shop for souvenirs, and experience the lively street culture.
Before heading to the airport, the final stop was Oleh-oleh Bakpia Pathok Bandara Jaya 5, where participants could purchase the famous Bakpia Pathok, a must-try Yogyakarta delicacy. This marked the end of the enriching and memorable three-day journey.
The Yogyakarta Study Tour 3D2N provided a perfect blend of education, culture, adventure, and leisure. Participants gained valuable knowledge, experienced local traditions, and created lasting memories. This well-planned itinerary showcased Yogyakarta’s best offerings, making it an unforgettable journey for all involved.
